An Ode to Scott and JoAnn by Stacey "Saddle Gal" Terreri, read at the Holiday Party Dec. 16, 2006
Dead End Kids Motorcycle Club
Est. 2005
If you’ve got a bike
And been dying to ride
On the highways and byways
Come do so with pride
No matter the bike
Whether big one or small
The Dead End Kids
Ride one and for all
Weather permitting
The wheels meet the road
We face the wind bravely
In adventurous mode
The outfit is warm
If December it be
Or brief in the summer
As one becomes we
We’re found on the Green
Or the Dragon Exhaust
We cross o’er the country
And sometimes been lost
We’ve been to the shore
And the mountains up north
And out to the West
Every effort put forth
To travel our land
With folks that are cool
Believe me the bikes
Sure beat a mule
There’re choices are many
We sure do have fun
With Bike Nights and camping
And the great Poker Run
The adrenalin pumps
And the spirits are high
As we join together
And do the high five
Our name may seem
That our pasts have been bleak
But the Dead End Kids
Are nothing like weak
The people are special
All our welcome with us
The friendships are lasting
And happiness a must
We’ll look for you soon
On the back of a bike
With a chick or a fellow
That you might like
So holiday wishes
And cheers to you all
We’ll be waiting for you
On your bike riding tall
We can’t come to a close
Without loving thanks
To Captain and Mom
Who head up our ranks
They put hours of work
To make our rides fun
To make sure our cycles
Are fit for the run
So Scott and Joann
This poems really for you
With Dead End Kids thanks
For all that you do
